What is Spirit Release Therapy?

A Grounded Introduction to SRT
If you've never heard of Spirit Release Therapy before, you're certainly not alone.
Spirit Release Therapy, often shortened to SRT, is a form of spiritual and energetic work centered around identifying and clearing unwanted energetic or spiritual influences that may be affecting a person, animal, home, land, or other space.
There are many beliefs and traditions surrounding spiritual energy, attachments, earthbound spirits, and energetic clearing. My work with SRT is approached through a spiritual framework, with the intention of bringing greater clarity, clearing, and sovereignty to the individual receiving the work.
So, what exactly happens during Spirit Release Therapy—and why might someone seek it out?
Understanding Spirit Release Therapy
Within the framework of SRT, we recognize that not every energetic influence we encounter necessarily originates with us.
Throughout our lives, we interact with people, places, environments, experiences, and energies. Just as we can walk away from an emotionally intense environment still feeling its effects, spiritual and energetic practices recognize that we may sometimes carry influences that do not belong within our own energetic space.
Spirit Release Therapy works to identify and address these influences.
Depending on what is discovered during a session, this work may include areas such as:
Earthbound spirits
Energetic cords and attachments
Unwanted energetic influences
Negative etheric implants or devices
Curses, spells, contracts, or other energetic agreements
Astral portals or energetic openings
Other spiritual or energetic concerns identified during the session
The purpose isn't to create fear around what might be present.
Quite the opposite.
For me, this work is about bringing awareness to what is present, addressing what is appropriate to clear, and supporting the return to one's own energetic space.
How I Practice Spirit Release Therapy
My SRT sessions are performed remotely by a two-person team consisting of myself as the Certified Spirit Release Therapy Facilitator and a psychic medium.
During the session, the medium enters a deeply relaxed meditative or trance state while I guide the session as Facilitator.
Together, with the support of our spiritual guidance, we systematically investigate the areas included within the session and address what is discovered.
One aspect of my practice that sometimes surprises people is this:
You do not need to be present during the session.
Because this work is performed remotely, you can continue with your normal day while the session takes place.
Once the work is complete, I prepare a written report detailing what was identified and addressed during your session. Reports are typically delivered by email within 1–2 weeks, and sessions are completed in the order they are received.
Is SRT Only for People?
No.
One of the things I appreciate about this work is its ability to be applied beyond an individual human energetic field.
My Spirit Release Therapy work includes sessions for:
Individuals
These sessions focus specifically on the energetic and spiritual influences surrounding an individual.
Companion Animals
Animals interact with environments and energy too. SRT sessions can be performed for companion animals using the same remote framework.
Homes, Land & Property
Sometimes the concern isn't centered around a particular person at all.
A home, property, or piece of land may carry its own energetic history. Property sessions allow us to investigate and address spiritual and energetic concerns connected with the space itself.
Earthbound Checks
I also offer focused sessions intended to check on a deceased human or companion animal to determine, within the spiritual framework of this practice, whether they have successfully crossed over or whether additional assistance may be appropriate.
Is Spirit Release Therapy the Same as Reiki?
No, although both work within an energetic framework.
Reiki focuses on channeling Reiki energy to support relaxation, energetic balance, clearing, and overall well-being.
Spirit Release Therapy is investigative.
Rather than simply bringing supportive energy into the field, SRT seeks to identify specific spiritual or energetic influences and address them according to what is discovered during the session.
They can complement one another, but they are distinctly different practices.
SRT Isn't About Living in Fear of Energy
This part is particularly important to me.
Learning about energetic and spiritual influences should not leave you afraid of everything around you.
You don't need to spend your life wondering whether every difficult day, strange feeling, uncomfortable room, or challenging experience means something spiritual is attacking you.
Discernment matters.
Grounding matters.
Personal responsibility matters.
And energetic sovereignty matters.
A clearing can be a valuable tool, but I don't believe our relationship with our own energy should begin and end with someone else clearing it for us.
Understanding your own energetic boundaries, learning grounding practices, developing energetic hygiene, recognizing what feels like you, and becoming intentional about what you allow into your space are all pieces of building a healthier relationship with your energy.
My intention is never to create dependence upon spiritual services.
It is to help you return to yourself.
What Happens After an SRT Session?
After your session, you receive your written report explaining what was found and what was addressed.
From there, I encourage you to continue supporting your own energetic well-being in whatever ways resonate with you.
That might include grounding practices, energetic cleansing, Reiki, meditation, time in nature, intentional boundaries, spiritual practices, or simply becoming more conscious of how different people and environments affect you.
For those who want additional guidance developing these practices, I also offer Energetic Sovereignty Guidance, where we can explore cleansing, grounding, energetic hygiene, and protection practices tailored to the individual.
Because clearing something is one piece of the journey.
Learning how to intentionally tend your own energetic space is another.
Exploring Spirit Release Therapy
Spirit Release Therapy is deeply spiritual work, and it won't align with everyone's beliefs—and that's okay.
You are encouraged to approach this work with your own discernment, ask questions, and determine whether it resonates with your personal spiritual path.
If you feel called to explore further, you can learn about the different Spirit Release Therapy sessions I offer through Willow Tree Healing & Apothecary, including sessions for individuals, companion animals, homes and property, and earthbound checks.
